Remember customer service: everybody talks about it today but in the old days you got real customer service, not a computer to talk to or sales clerk that ignore you.

Remember when most of the people lived inside Loop 410? When the only mall's were North Star,McCreless and South Park. When you used to get free glassware at Sigmore gas stations. When kids weren't as bad as they are now!

Remember the daily movie show that used to come on in the afternoons "Best of Hollywood" they would play movies like Charlie Chan, Tarzan, The Bowery Boys, Henry Alridge. At around noon I would always watch Amos & Andy. In the mornings it was always The Little Rascals.

Remember when you could go to a local movie theatre for 10 cents and you sat in the second row pulling the ponytail or pigtails of the girl in front of you?

You would watch about 5 or 10 cartoons followed by several serials and a double bill. You could literally start at 10 am and watch till 6 pm, when they would kick you out and start showing adult age movies.

Wasn't Model Market the only place you could get Shasta sodas? I remember loading up to go hunting or a trip to the coast. We'd go by Model Market to get lots of cheap sodas. Shasta was like the first generic with a brand name. Now of course every store has there own named brand.
Btw, you can see and hear an old Shasta commercial in the movie "Signs"
