We are going to have a party for about 40 people. Is there a restaurant or party room near 281 & 1604 or 281 & 410 areas? We'll need to have food and drinks too. Thanks.

For casual, there's EZ's at 281 and Bitters. We've used their room for business meetings.

Will you have kiddos? Do you want casual? Any particular type of occasion?

The Lion and Rose in Stone Oak has a nice private dining room....but really geared more toward adults.

Also Alamo Cafe on 281 has private dining room. EDIT out the place that is no longer there! Teach me to get out more!!!! lol!

Magic Time Machine is one option, especially if there will be kiddos. Their food is surprisingly good and you would need to request Capt Jack as your waiter. He has to be the best waiter for a party in this city!

Another option is Silo Elevated Restaurant. Its a little further than you requested, but we recently went to a retirement party there. The party room was large and private and the food was out of this world!

Let us know how the party goes! What's the occasion?

Forget that! How about an invite?

Spring Hill Event Center is out 281, about 10 miles N. of 1604. I've only been to a wedding reception there, but the food, service, and ambiance was very nice. It might be too large for your needs though.

Also might want to check out the Mexican Restaurant on Redland, owned by the Barrio's children. I haven't been there, but I've heard great reviews here on CD, and by friends. It looks like a really fun, festive place from the outside.

Good luck

If you can provide some specific information about what you are looking for we can better guide you since there are plenty of restaurants that fit that description.

For example,

*Do you have a budget, price per person, in mind,
*will children be attending i.e. child friendly environment, etc?
*would you need projector/ powerpoint capabilities (corporate/business event?)
*casual/formal -what type of dining would you prefer?

If you can answer those questions, I think we can get real specific. I think the 1st two questions will help the most...

However, I have hosted events for my clients at the following (which have private and semi-private dining rooms):

Paesanos
Kirbys
Steakhouse
Reggianos
StoneWerks
Silo
Oak Room at The Falls (281 & Bitters)

I also have worked with some caterers so let us know if you need specific information.

HTH!

Default Thanks for all the great suggestions

Thanks for all the help. We decided to book Alamo Cafe. They have a room for 40 people. This will be a birthday celebration for our 80 year old father. We wanted to keep it real casual and fun. Alamo Cafe seems to have many options on their party menus. It will be next month, so I'll post a recap and let everyone know how Alamo Cafe did. Thanks again.
