Thanks UTSASTUD.....I do love San Antonio....but I know it's not perfect. I don't really take too much of the negatives too seriously. I've lived in Austin and DFW too.....and there are pluses and minuses everywhere. I miss the symphoney in Dallas at the Morton Meyerson Center....wow.....but I left before getting to see the Bass Concert Hall finished in Ft. Worth. But they can keep the traffic congestion and fast pace up there....and Mark Cuban! (sorry...he is very obnoxious!) Dirk is OK in my book, but I still love Duncan, Ginobili and Parker!! And most of SA probably misses the little General!
My stress level dropped significantly coming back here. It is a more simple life in South Texas......but that's not a bad thing. I can see that a more trendy energetic atmosphere might appeal to the college crowd. I'm reinventing myself after a divorce and "family stuff".....so I fall between the cracks. Single scene in SA for my age bracket totally sucks......but I do have lots of friends here.
BTW - you college guys should meet my daughter! (sorry....I couldn't resisit....but she's a knockout if I can be a little obnoxious.) Fill me in on any good clubs and I'll pass it on to her and her friends when she comes into town next.

I guess I've missed that one! Handley Woods can be that way....depending on who is working. I just stroll in.....say my hellos as if I own the store and stroll back out. I just don't give a flip if they don't like what I drive or what I buy!

You're right, "blackies" aren't allowed in Alamo Heights, except 7 percent of the population in Alamo Heights is black.

And no offense, if rich is a median income of $65k, that's not rich. Maybe upper middle class, certainly not rich.

Tell that to Beverly Hills.
And you think Highland Park is the pimp daddy of earning power?? Get a clue, fast.

I think Alamo Heights has an overinflated image of itself....trying to be a Highland Park, and failing at it.

Yes, every city wants to be Highland Park, the greatest place ever in the history of mankind.
UTSA, have you ever once been outside of either Dallas or San Antonio? It seems all you have to AH to compare to is Highland Park or University Park.
Way to use such "Plano-esqe" vocabulary.

210,
I'm going to assume you temporarily lost connection with reality, and ignore your provocation.
I have lived in the north shore of Chicago, and that blows away anything in Texas. But for the purposes of this thread, I did compare HP and AH.
And as far as I knew, there are no blacks living in AH. Atleast in the homes, apartments don't count.

If you're coming from NYC, you probably won't like it. I lived in Chicago and then moved to Dallas, and SA has been very underwhelming.
It may take you awhile to figure out the highway system, it's really pretty bad. Being a Yorker, you're probably an aggressive driver like me....people here drive very slow.
SA is a nice, slow, country place. There are some attractive women, but most of them are transplants or college students.

Well I wasn't trying to imply San Antonio was perfect, but perhaps I came off that way. Sorry, I just don't blame 210 for trying set the facts straight especially when the complaints seem so hyperbolated.

The State of Texas is responsible for the highway system, not the city itself.
You need to take photographs of what you saw, AND identify the intersections. Clearly SHOW the street names and do not doctor them. Otherwise, I doubt very many will believe you.

I got off at Broadway, and turned right. The golf course I'm referring to is on the right by the Quarry. Compared to Gleneagles, Dallas, and Prestonwood golf clubs in Dallas, I just didn't think it was that well kept or impressive.
When you get further into AH, the roads get worse, and some of the houses are pretty nice....I'll give you that. But compared to the other cities I mentioned, I don't think it's that great.
My problem probably is more with the people there than the city itself.

Really, so its black population is 8 percent for no reason?
And I'm sure you knocked on every door and checked to see the race of its in habitats to make such a claim.
