Don't know if they're related. Funny you mentioned your mother waitressed there. Just found out my wife's mother left Lytle with a girlfriend out of H.S. Near the end of WWII and found work at the Wolffe's Inn. Jim Hasslocher, Baylis Miller met through Osborn's, Biedenharn's and Barrett's mutual interests. My son worked for Frank's in business since late 1800's here. Latest venture they owned many of the Car Quest's.

The core of San Antonio:

From the Canary Islander Descendants....many who still live in San Antonio and South Texas.

These are the heads of household of 16 families, so the numbers are much higher. They settled on the spot where Main Plaza now exists before San Fernando Cathedral was built.

1.) Juan Leal GORAZ,
2.) Juan CURBELO,
3.) Juan LEAL (son of Juan Leal Goraz),
4.) Antonio DE LOS SANTOS,
5.) Joseph PADRON,
6.) Manuel DE NIZ,
7.) Vicente Alvarez TRAVIESO,
8.) Salvador RODRIGUEZ,
9.) Francisco DE AROCHA,
10.) Antonio RODRIGUEZ,
11.) Joseph LEAL,
12.) Juan DELGADO (son of Lucas Delgado),
13.) Joseph CABRERA,
14.) Maria Robina Bethencourt GRANADO (widow of Juan Rodriguez Granado),
15.) Maria Melian DELGADO (widow of Lucas Delgado), and
16.) Ignacio and Martin Lorenzo DE ARMAS (brothers), Felipe and Joseph Antonio PERES (brothers). (These are the official numbered heads of the Canary Islands families that were taken from the Quautitlan List, November 8, 1730.)

The four bachelors listed in number 16 for were considered one "family" and because they were unmarried, had to split the property normally granted to the head of the family.

another tidbit of info on good ol' red. when COPS was at its prime with Beatrice Gallegos as its President and my mom as the VP, red offered Beatrice over a million dollars to run for mayor with many of his "influential" friends making donations as well.

remember, beatrice gallegos is the one that forced cisneros to do the infamous crying and kicking the walls at city hall scenario. do you remember that?

needless to say the strong middle class women turned down the offer.

if it werent for COPS there would not be the multi district system that exists now. they also helped bring down the term limits because some council members were able to make a career out of city council and really corrupt things around here.

how about frank herrera? he and hardberger have a long histroy dating back to the time he and hardberger shared a law office in 1967.
