EDIT - just missed their office. They closed at 4:30.
I spoke with them the other day. The county is but the park is not. She said they have never activated a burn ban. Pedernales and Guadalupe are the same way. Each park can decide for themselves ( is what they tell me when I call) but please call again so we can make sure. I have to have a fire!

When my dad and I went there in the summer, we asked the park ranger about the burn ban. He told us that they were given the okay to allow the campers to use the ring if it was used for "cooking". We were initially asking about roasting marshmallows, so that was his way of saying it was okay to do. I wouldn't mind camping in the rain, but my PUP has a leak. There are so many things that I need to have done for it, but at the same time, we are trying to furnish and decorate our new house.

We won't be able to make it . Like I said before, we were camping last week and I really need to get some stuff done around the house. Besides, my kids have school functions going on (as usual).

But this is definitely a great idea, maybe next time .
