I heard they are going to finally finish it, but is it really worth it?

Yes - it is worth it. They need to conect West and Blanco and put a bridge over Blanco road like they originally planned.

Anyone have any idea on the status of this project? With The Woods of Alon and the new Voelker Ranch Park going in - it seems that this should get priority - but haven't seen any work on this in years.

I wish they'd do it right and create a flyover from Lockhill Selma to Bandera...wouldn't that make more sense than making half of it a freeway and the other half filled with stoplights? Oh wait...they must be following the 1604 model of road planning...

man, if they really are going to finish the parkway, some businesses are going to hurt and the traffic will stink like no other.

If you have lived here long enough, nothing done in our city makes sense most of the time. To complete it and connect it to Bitters that turns into Wurzbach Pkwy, They have to go over residences and I can't see how it will be done. I realize I'm not an engineer, but I can't figure it out once you get to Blanco.

Actually it won't go through residences. See here:

Alamo RMA: Alamo Regional Mobility Authority - Moving people faster

I just wish they would do it already.

I went to the public meeting about this last spring. My understanding is that the Alamo RMA is planning to toll the Parkway's interchange with 281 to cover the costs of construction and maintenance. It's all planned out, so I assume that all that is stopping them is the legal wrangling on toll roads in the area.
