Being new to TX and San Antonio, I thought the state had a law against talking on the cell phone/needing a hands free set in place already...I have used mine all along.
I can not for the life of me imagine holding a cell phone and trying to manuver around the loops, off ramps, and access roads with some drivers out there!!

I personally think cell phone use while driving anywhere should be banned. It seems to be to big of a distraction for some drivers.

This is a good start, but they need to ban it in the car totally. Every day it seems the number of cars that almost hit me is rising and it's now people on the phone at least 95% of the time. I don't care who you are and how great of a driver you think you are, you just can't do it.

IMO using a cell phone while driving should be banned period everywhere. There have been studies done that show people talking on a cell phone (even a hands free device) are more likely to have a wreck that someone who is drunk and driving. The same penalties should apply.

if they could only keep them out of the schools--not just school zones--that would be big improvement and help to education...

I have BT in my truck, but don't use it because I don't like talking on the phone in any manner while I'm driving. If someone calls I just tell them I'll call them back because I'm driving. It's a pretty simple thing to do and I've never received one complaint.

It should be banned everywhere - some of these people who drive and talk on the phone are a real danger to everyone.

Yep, same here...there's nothing THAT important that can't wait until you pull over to return a call.
