I'm looking forward to seeing what NOAA's forecast is tomorrow morning.
I don't envy anyone making that call with a flight on Continental. I wouldn't want to fly through IAH while the storm is making landfall, even if the eye is 200 miles to the east. If the airport is able to stay open through it, flights from the east will have to take circuitous routes to get there. That could affect a flight to the west if its previous stop was east of IAH.

American shows a few options too through my company's travel management system but I've had horrible luck with DFW in the past. Not a lot of really good looking options right now... maybe it'll be clearer in the morning.

Revolver is on a distinguished road
What's the worst that any hurricane could do to SA since we're so far inland? I'm somewhat new here, and have no idea what to expect.

Thanks.

"All roads lead to San Antonio."
That means all coastal evacuees are supposed to head here.
That means I have to work all weekend and then some.
That generally doesn't affect the typical resident though

We could get excessive wind and rain, or as in the case of the recent Dolly which hit the Valley, a tornado locally.

I have to fly through Houston on Friday morning and am hoping this is all over by then. The reports I saw this morning were increasing the chances of a movement towards the west, which would coincide perfectly with the crappy luck I've been having lately with this cruise.
Definitely glad I'm not going out of Galveston though. Hopefully those people bought travel insurance.

great, just saw that it's now a CAT 4. probably would be a good idea to get some gas today..

I work for the government, get called up in emergency responses, of which there seem to be a lot these days. Not my usual gig anymore, but in an emergency everyone responds.

As far as weather.....we could get a good bit of rain....possible flash floods if it hits us right.....and the worst case scenario would be heavy hail and spin off tornadoes. The weather experts can tell you which side of the hurricane is more dangerous or will create more problems with landfall storm systems.
