I don't know which one would be closer, but there is also a Perico's off of Sonterra and 1604. Sorry, I don't have the phone number, I just drive by it once in a while.

Jim's on Bandera Road and 1604 has an add for bussers. ALso Freddy's, all locations I think, is hiring! Wishing you the best!

"Fierce_flawless" you were especially helpful and it's greatly appreciated!

I called Manpower, they said to come in between 9 and 11 AM, I will go by this Friday if need be. I also applied for a loan with Covington Credit which is a loan company near downtown that loans money based on "in home collateral." I would prefer to go that route instead of pawning my laptop.

I called one pawn shop, they said the most they could offer was $200 for a laptop. I will probably call some more shops around and see if I can get more. I don't know if the loan will go through for Covington Credit. My credit isn't the worst, it isn't the best. I also called Luby's restaurants (about 5 of them) because I know they do hire waitstaff. But all those I called aren't hiring.

As "Fierce_Flawless" suggested, I might have to go to the Plasma place over here on Lexington Ave (north of downtown near SAC) this Friday. The thought of donating makes me apprehensive about the process but I just might have to do that and like you said, if I qualify hopefully I can redonate in a few days for more money.

Good luck to you, hope some of what I had to say helped. I have BTDT sooo many times, not even funny, but it always manages to work out. Hope the same is true for you!

If you decide to donate plasma, I advise taking along a good book. They have the TV on most places but in my experience it is always on Jerry Springer or soaps, or not loud enough to hear properly, or otherwise not worth watching. So, I always brought a book. The process is not painful, but if I thought too much about it it made me feel "icky"... for lack of a better term.. so reading helped me not think about it. Make sure you eat something before you go, and relax. I used to get freaked out and anxious about NOT qualifying for some reason (when I REALLY NEEDED the money)....which would have the effect of make my pulse rate high, then they'd disqualify me for having a pulse rate too high so I'd brought my fear to life! So next time I'd worry about it happening again, and it would affect it again..self-fulfilling prophecy and a vicious cycle! I had to start meditating before going in to get the whole anxiety thing under control.

Reading that made my stomach turn. I went to donate plasma in college, and about 30 seconds into the pumping I had a seizure. It was mortifying! The lady was so rude too! Then they only gave me half the money So be careful, ha ha.

Don't waste your time at Zios, Chilis, Red Lobster, etc. They make you go through training first so you wouldn't be able to make tips for a while. I would search high and low for a barback or bartender job. Let us know how it goes.
