What the whole agricultural and homestead exemptions really mean? I tried the webpage for findlaw, I still don't really get it yet. How do you get this and anything. I'm confused!

Agricultural exemption....if you own land that you farm or raise stock

Homestead.....the home that you reside in as your own...as opposed to rental or investment property in addition to your homestead.

So if i own approx 5 acres and have some cows and sheep maybe a few chickens and live there would that be both? And what are the benefits? Is it a good thing? Also i know really stupid question but hey you don't ask you don't know, right? What does raising stock mean?

I think there is a minimum of 10 acres (not sure though). This may help you out:

oh and are these things good? Having the homestead and/or the agricultural exemptions?

Yes. You should definitely have the homestead exemption if you own your home.
If you qualify for the Ag exemption it helps out tremendously. I am in a different county so I don't know if it applies to Bexar but we have to show 5 years of ranching/farming before the ag exemption takes place.

It is definitely worth looking into.
