So my fiance left my car at a friends apt complex last night for a few hours and now our turn signal cover is gone. Does anyone know of any junk yards in the area I could check out for this part? I own a Volvo so ordering the part from anywhere is so expensive! Thanks for any help!

Hey--I think one of the NW siders can help--if you're on the NW side, I believe there is also one on that road between Culebra and Grissom--don't know the name of it, or if it's even still there, because I never turn there.

Anyone???

UHH!! My experience with these junk yards has grown in last few years. You might want to see what a new one costs first. Of course it's availability is one thing. You'd be quite shocked at what these pick and pulls and similar places charge. Some common lens covers (i.e. Chevy truck) can be gotten at a regular auto parts store. If you consider some of these places: you'll need your own tools , you may have to carry them 1/2 a mile to find your part, you may or may not find a good part. Then there's the shock when they tell you what it cost you for your effort. Check around.
Btw, they just broke my daughters vent window night before last. Her Chevy Truck!

Gosh they are like $72 online, I am so not paying that! But the hassle of the whole thing seems kinda ridiculous, I guess now i understand why someone would steal mine. Crappy people! Ughk! They make me so mad I can't even imagine how mad I'd be if more had been taken! But my fiance found something at some auto part store thats supposed to "fix" it so we'll see. Hows the laws on driving with a busted/or missing turn signal around here? Am I gonna get pulled over and given a fix it ticket or should I be ok driving?

Insurance Auto Salvage Insurance Auto Salvage . They have a lot of newer model cars from insurance totaled cars. Its a little bit more expensive, but they pull the part for you.

It won't pass inspection, and I got pulled over in Helotes for my brake light being burned out. He only gave me a warning, but I suppose if I'd been in Leon Valley or Windcrest I'd be out a Benjamin or two. At least I found out my light was out, though. That's a quick and easy fix.
