Has anyone had a problem with water bugs in their pool. They are called backswimmers and apparently swim, fly and bite! Anyone know how to get rid of them?

one of the many joys of owning a swimming pool. The only thing I did back in the bad days of pool ownership was to scoop them out with the net. Seems like there was always some in there not matter what though.
I totally don't miss that PITA thing.

Yeah thats what we have been doing. I read that they are nasty little biters. Yikes! I didn't realize that bugs could actually thrive in a clean pool.

I figured the cholorine would kill any bug and I've accidentally inhaled some while adding it to the pool before and felt like I was going to die, so I don't know how they do it. I guess they're good at swimming like us and don't let it bother them.

You could always find a way of electrifying the surface of the water. Maybe the word will spread to the other bugs after a while...

Hey not a bad idea dimwit.. They seriously have me a little freaked out. I put some in a little container and then found a monster one and put it in there too and it attacked the smaller ones so fast.

Wow...That sounds pretty scary to me. I have this theory about Texas bugs:

They're bigger, meaner, and stronger than just about anywhere else!

Seriously, I've never seen so many large/scary bugs in my life. Even the gnats can take a small farm animal!
