Are there any German speakers out there that would like to talk with a learner? I have taken a few years formal German classes in college, have traveled to Germany 4 times. love it over there!

i guess im a bit of a slow learner or something, but i have all these German words and info in my head, i just can never get it out! that will come only with practice.

I would love to find a group of people who meet often for coffee or what ever, that speak german, and wouldn’t mine me hanging around with my ears open. or at least people are a learners like me that will at least try to speak broken german together.!

German is one of the foreign-language options in the North East ISD high schools here. If you don't find any takers online, maybe the German language teacher at your nearest high school could point you to some local German groups? You should be able to find the teacher through the school web site.

My son took 4 years of German in NEISD--he can speak it, but he's getting rusty, since, like you he doesn't really have anyone to talk to. My German stops at the sneeze.

The German-Texan Heritage Society is an excellent organization for anyone interested in Germans and their impact in Texas history and society. They have classes and groups that practice German. I don't have their address, but I am sure you can google them and get it.
