Question Apartments in N/NW San Antonio

I'm so glad I've found this forum! I've read through all the topics and they've been extremely helpful!

I'm moving to San Antonio from Michigan (to escape the winters) in late September, and I have my eye on a few apartment complexes.

My question is, does anyone live in an apartment/loft/townhome, and just love it? It's very hard to take apartment finders for their word! Is there a particular management company anyone has had a good (or bad) experience with?

I'd also like to know what there is for a young single to do in the area- any good dog-friendly areas?

And yes- I'm prepared to deal with the heat!

Thanks for the help... I had several places with great layouts, and the grounds looked nice too, but I found a website where people could rate their apartments or the management, and only 4 or 5 out of 10 to 15 had good ratings! I was pretty disappointed, but I'd rather know now, before I sign a lease!

All those places were on the North or North West side, too.

A friend of mine just went out looking with her 20 something son (we are over on the NW side and she said she liked Hidden Lake best. Its on 1604 and Babcock so pretty close to UTSA (Unversity of Texas at San Antonio) and he is a student. I lived in the Highlands on UTSA Blvd before finding a home here and it was fine.

GL

A water bill might run ya 25 bucks my 2200sq ft jome with 4 people and laundry going and watering the yard runs about $80

please remember that when it comes to apartments, not everything is big in Texas.
An 800sq ft 2 bdrm on the N/NW side can run from $595 for the basic 1970's built apt to $1200 for the bells and whistles and a little bit more sq footage
Water bill - $25
Electricity - depends on how old the apartment is. Ive paid as little as $75 during the winter to as much as $120 during the summer.

I wouldn't trust those sites too much. Most complaints are the pitty type ("They didn't unlock the pool club for me. They suck!") stuff. Believe me, I've lived ina few apartment complexes that I've loved, yet you go to a site that rates them and they get bad reviews. Then i read them and laugh at the dumb things people write.
