Hey ya'll! Am currently in your city and am enjoying myself! I hung out at "Silo" in the northern area and it was a cool place to be ... loved the music!

I was wondering ... where are all the asians in town and where do ya'll hang out? I heard there was a growing population here ... just curious!

If you're between the ages of 28-32 and asian where do you hang out? (I apologize for the limited shout out!)

Sorry Pixie but there ain’t no Asians here, at least not to the degree of what Austin, Dallas, and Houston has but San Antonio has plenty of hispanics.

Why are you looking for Asians here? And hey, there are plenty of all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurants but if you are looking for the real deal, you will have to drive an hour north to Austin.

Don’t you know Asians like to hang out at trendy places like…Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

Many more Asians on the northeast side, mostly Vietnamese and Korean. Japanese and Chinese are mostly on the northwest side.

Pixie....you might try checking with some of the churches to locate Asian group activities. SA has a significant population of American-Asian residents. But, SA has never been a city with heavily populated areas with certain cultures. Everyone sort of spreads out everywhere.

For your age group, you might also check with the University of Incarnate Word or UTSA about mixers with foreign exchange students.

we need more authentic Asian people here. Because almost all of the Chinese food here sucks!

I would like to have some healthy type of oriental food. I like stir-fry with just a very light sauce.

No Asians in San Antonio? More Asians in Austin than San Antonio??

Go to the U.S. Census Bureau and check:

Hays County (Austin): 1.2% Asian
Bexar County (San Antonio): 2.2% Asian
Dallas County (Dallas): 4.6% Asian
Harris County (Houston): 5.6% Asian

There are many Asians here: Filipino (Filipino-American Association), Japanese (JASA), Korean (several Korean churches here), and other ethnic Asian groups. There is an Asian Festival downtown on Feb 20, 2010.

Nice thing about San Antonio is that it celebrates ALL ethnic groups every year during the Texas Folklife Festival downtown.
