Hi all...

I was just wondering if anyone knows if a Sun Harvest
or Whole Foods will be going up in the Alamo Ranch area.
We had to commute for shopping quite a ways (Sea World area
to either one of those stores) before. Trader Joes would also
be great.

H.W.

I have to drive my wife way over to I10 and Callaghan to go to Sun Harvest so she can buy herbal medicines. I doubt they will put one in AR as they would have to compete with HEB and Walmart Supercenter nearby even though they are a niche store. Perhaps they could build a "scaled down" version close to the Del Webb retirement community there.

Ooo Trader Joe's! Unfortunately I don't think they're coming to San Antonio anytime in the near future.

You can (and should ) suggest Trader Joe's comes to SA on their website, I did a few weeks ago, maybe with enough requests they'll consider it.

Thumbs up Two Buck Chuck

I'm constantly suggesting that Trader Joe's comes to Texas on their website. They are slowly but surely opening up locations across the US and are opening a few in the Atlanta area now. It seems like Florida and Texas are the only large states they haven't ventured into yet. I think it'll only be a little while before they start opening stores in the larger metros here.

I've suggested to Wild Oats to build a store and have suggested to Whole Foods to build another store to no avail. Heck, even another Central Market or Sun Harvest would be great in the Alamo Ranch area.

Default Glad to know others are working on this!

Please keep up the suggestions to these places, guys!
We move back to San Antonio in a year and 4 months.
I'd love to see some kind of health food store in that area
by then...

Blessings,
H.W.

Sun Harvest is owned by Wild Oats and is only in Texas. So I doubt Wild Oats will open a store in Texas. Basically, Sun Harvest is Wild Oat just a different name.

There are three Sun Harvest locations in SA.

Wild Oats may not open stores in San Antonio but they're already planning to expand in Houston now and to re-enter the DFW market by 2009. Here's a link.

That makes sense since neither Dallas nor Houston have a Sun Harvest.
