I'm probably wrong, but I thought they were building more student housing, or an apartment complex there. I haven't been over that way in about 6 months, so I haven't seen it.

It is a small retail center. The sign on the property says "The Place". It is adjacent to The Reserves student apartments. I think there may be a McDonald's included.

I bet it isn't long before we see development on the other corners at the intersection. Traffic at that intersection is already a nightmare... wait until the new businesses open.

I went to their website The Place Commercial Real Estate: Clients , it shows that some of their clients are:

Advance Auto Parts
Bank of America
Chick-Fil-A
Costco Wholesale
Jack in the Box
Starbucks
SteinMart
Valero
Wachovia
Walgreens
Washington Mutual
Wells Fargo

Interesting. I'm sure we'll see a Walgreens (though there is a CVS not far at Babcock/Dezavala) and a quick-service restaurant or bank. Word is that a new McDonald's is being built near UTSA (the location off 1604 has signs that mention "Now hiring... new store coming soon") so I assumed this would a prime location.

Interesting. I expect to see a Walgreens and a quick service restaurant or bank. The McDonald's off 1604 mentions a new store coming soon which leads me to believe it may be a McDonald's.

There isn't a Jack in the Box at DeZavala and the nearest is at Bandera. It will not be Chick-fil-a since there are four locations nearby (on campus, La Cantera, The Rim, and DeZavala). Valero is across the street. Stein Mart is at Fiesta Trails. Costco is too big. Bank of America, Wachovia, and WaMu all have nearby locations while Wells Fargo has a location at Vance Jackson/Huebner.

4 banks???? I wonder how many of them will still be alive when the development is finished. Doesn't everyone do direct deposit and online bill pay now? Seriously, 4 banks in one center?

Big A is on a distinguished road
The web site has a list of their clients. It does not mean that all these clients will be at this development.

We've needed a Jack in the Box on this side of town since everything started going up here in the late 90s! I swear, if a Jack in the Box goes up there I will scream! I just started working right next door to a Jack in the Box. haha. There is one closer then Bandera, though. There's a Jack in the Box near the Fredrickburg/Prue/Huebner area.
