Anyone know where I could find the network key for a wireless web set up? I am headed over to a buddy's with my puter and I need to find his to get access to his network. I had heard if you pull up a specific web site it tells you but for the life of me I can't remember what it is.

Greed

Usually you have to log onto a web site of the manufacturer of the wireless modem you are using, and your account information will have the key.

It is a pain, I just went through this a few weeks ago when I bought a new laptop and it drove me crazy for a few days as I couldn't find where I had written down the key. Luckily, I found the web site and was able to retrieve it.

If it doesn't work I believe most wireless modems have a way to reset themselves to a default key. Again, you'll have to check the web site of the manufacturer to find out how to do that.

Good luck!

Cheers! M2

Wait, I believe what you're referring to falls under wardriving! l33t hax0rs!!!

If the network key has been changed by who ever set up the network, then I don't think going to the manufacturer website will help. Only if the key is 'factory'. If all else fails a reset will usually work. Resets also revert any IP changes made to the setup, and MAC or WEP info, etc.

Will this website pull up changed keys, or factory keys?
