Favorite Roasted Corn Topping/Vending Spot
I personally prefer slathering on some butter and topping it off with lucas... anyone have a favorite spot for helotes? I always end up buying mine at an HEB parking lot (grissom/culebra-tezel).

The only place I've gotten it recently was Market Square, and it was a bit too crunchy for me.
I just got back from Chili's and they have turned corn on the cob into an art form. OMG, I don't know what they do to it, but it's heaven.

The only place I had ever had helote with mayo was in McAllen. I didn't like it. The best place I ever had roasted corn was at the flea market off of Hwy 16. Lots of butter and lemon pepper. Yummy!

The best place is in your own backyard. Place corn on grill and let it set for 3 to 5 minutes over charcoal. Afterward bath it in butter, salt, pepper and cinnamon, uuummmmmhhhhhh, yummy. I use to sell corn that way in St. Louis, $3.00 per ear at fairs. Everyone loved it. I set up a bunch of choices for topping and let customers do their own.

Well, not sure if they carry roasted corn but if you drive south towards Southwest HS on 1604, you will run into this junk food drive thru that has great corn in the cup. They pretty much have everything. Frito Pie, Nachos, and of course the reason why my wife makes me stop there, Funnel Cake. Very colorful looking place too, it's on the right hand side if driving south.
