Still fairly new to the city. Looking for a reasonable price (10-20) place where people actually know how to cut hair. I've been to a pro cuts and some other place off bandera/1604 by the whataburger, and another where I used to live and they have all sucked big time.

I live around the UTSA area. If you guys know of a place where I can get a haircut, where my hair will be even, it'd be much appreciated. I've never had such bad experience before. This has been going on about 3 months now.

Any good ones in the Potranco/1604 area?
I haven't found a good place here either, but I did like the one I got last time. Only problem is it was on the NCL Pearl off the coast of Alaska, so it would be kinda expensive to go back

My husband also goes to Roosters and likes it. I go to Great Clips in Bandera Pointe...Luda is good but she does not work Thursdays-Sundays. We've used Erin a few times too and have been happy with her.

Good luck!

Try Leon Valley Barber Shop--just head down Bandera, bang a right on Grissom for a little over a mile, LVBS is on the right in a strip mall with Affordable Pet Care.

My dh goes to Sara at Truesdell 1604/Bandera cost is 20 he went to Roosters a few times but the price jumped up and though they give active Mil discount there is not one for retirees and the dud was fairly snitty when he asked. I am highly particular about hair services and Sara passes with flying colors. (I go to her also) Since we found her we have both been happy and two friends have followed us there. If you want her info PM me.

If you want a good cut, a good rule of thumb is to avoid going to chain haircut shops. Stick to the standalone shops that are owned by someone who works there. The owner-operated shops are far more likely to be choosy about who they let cut hair in their shop.

I've had good experiences at K Charles (Stone Oak @ 1604). It used to be $20 for a junior stylist, but recently went up to $25.

They are strictly tip-free. They do not allow gratuity, and do not expect it.
