Famous Palo Alto Grads...
I'm looking to convince a young friend to give college a try and am looking to provide a few recognizable civic leaders or famous actors who attended Palo Alto as a positive example. Help!

Here are a coupla interesting tidbits:
Peppe Fernandez - went on to become a popular local Tejano singer performing at restaurants on Karaoke night, and holds down a full time job as a plumbers helper.
Micky Jensen - claims adjuster for Fred Loya Insurance and 4 time chili cook-off 8th place winner.
Might be able ta find more........

Federico Velasco became a world traveler, has dabbled in a number of "careers," and has mastered the fine art of name-dropping. He's also had ownership of enough vehicles to start a used car dealership. Unfortunately, Federico still lives at home with mom and dad, even though he owns beachfront property.
I don't know if this is the kind of example you're looking for, but I hope it helps.

When I went to Palo Alto in Spring of 88 their was this guy, can't remember his name but he had a small part in a movie called Johnny B Good with Anthony Michael Hall! If you watch the movie he was wearing a SW Dragons Jacket! Don't know what the guy is doing today but I'm sure it was a good start for him in his acting career!

Palo Alto has acting classes? wow...that's neat! Do you know anything about the professors that teach theater? I know someone that needs a good start too. Theater is right up his alley!
SC...ironically, when I was doing some research in the East Side Cemetery (before I got mugged there!) I ran into a really interesting teacher from Palo Alto. I think he taught some kind of science or math at PA. He was originally from Colorado but lived quite a while in NY. His dad worked with a scientist named Nikola Tesla who sort of took Edison's light bulb and developed much more sophisticated ways of conducting electricity. This guy....Dr. Russo? (not sure how he spelled his name) had written his college thesis on Tesla and won all kinds of awards. (So he claimed). He said one of Tesla's inventions was an electromagnetic reader. It's used for a lot of things, but you hear a lot about it with paranormal groups. Anyway...this man was fascinating.....he was out there conducting some kind of testing with a group of students. I want to say there was a story or he said they were doing a story about his class in the paper....not sure which one. I could have listened to him all day! It made me want to go back to school! I wonder if he's still there. I guess it would help if I knew how to spell his name.

Actually, I might know that guy - the name is familiar but I can't seem to put my finger on where I know him from.
I appreciate everyone's input. Any others?

Hey S.C., funny this is right up my alley!! Here's a few I remember.........
Harold Swentosfsky received an AA degree in Creative Writing and went on to be second night manager at the Menswear Department at the Ingram JC Penny.
Rachel Benton used her 2 year degree in office management to gain a receptionist position at Jordon Ford.
Michael Osmond took his credits from Palo Alto and applied them toward admittence to Stanford. He was not accepted but he did get on Speaker Nancy Pelosi's janitorial staff.

I remember taking a couple of our kids there for swimming lessons. Seems like that Russo guy was there when our kids had GT classes there! Seems like a decent place to me. Oh! That Anthony Michael Hall, wasn't he the Predator?
