I didn't mind it and the little food shop thing they had in there had some of the best onion rings I've ever had. The guy was kinda rude and would not switch over to lunch until the exact minute it was supposed to start, but they were worth the wait.

Really, you'd give up your right to vote so that you don't have to serve on jury duty.

Where does he say he would do either of those? He only asked if he would get a jury summons if he registers to vote. Y'all need to lighten up! Sheesh, it's too early on a beautiful Saturday morning to be so naggy.

Go have some fun. It's our right!!!

How soon before your jury duty do y'all get your Summons? I had one postponement, but they also had my old address on it, which USPS had to catch, and I venture it took longer to get to my new address. Since the postponement I have changed my voter registration address as well.

Depends on the court. Mrs. Bowie has been summoned for JP court, Federal Court and some county court. They were all different. The range was 2-4 weeks.

In my 12 years of being of age for jury duty, I have only been called once.

I'm 45, had a license to drive since 16 and registered to vote since 18. I've lived here in SA for 13 years and have never once, here or at home, been called for jury duty.

Never say Never. It's when it ends up happening.

I've been summoned for Jury Duty about eight times in the last 25 years here in Bexar County. Both the County Courthouse and City of San Antonio Municpal Courts.

I know it is a lottery system based on voter registration and drivers license records, but I think people who change their address every few years reduce their chances of being summoned. I've known people who don't bother to change their address on these documents until they expire. And then, how often do the County/City FEDs update their databases? The summonses I've received in the past have "Do Not Forward" printed on the outside, so if they don't have your current address, then I would assume they can't deliver the summons to you.

My address hasn't changed in those 25 years, so if my name comes up in the lottery, I'll get the summons.

The Jury Duty data base is just derived form the Drivers License / State ID. Your voter registration is how they used to do it. But that changed a long way back in an effort to increase voter turn out. It is as up to date as your drivers License is the day they send it.
