78245 is all areas south of Potranco Rd from about Hwy 151 west to the Medina County line. Especially outside of 1604, zip 78245 will share retail development and new schools in the Northside ISD with its neighbor just across Potranco Rd...78253. Lots of new home development especially outside Loop 1604 but there's some great areas inside the loop including Trophy Ridge and StoneCreek. The new Santikos Theatre being built now is in this zip code as is the new HEB Plus and the new Wal Mart development at the corner of Potranco and 1604. New areas outside the loop include the residential neighborhoods of Amhurst, Laurel Mountain Ranch and a huge development that hasn't officially started named tentatively, Weston Oaks. Further down Potranco off 211 is Citicorp and the Texas Research Park which are both just north of the high-end Briggs Ranch and The Golf Club of Texas. Homes in Briggs Ranch are priced as high as 700K.

I have lived in the 78245 area for about a year and a half. A lot of military, retired and active, live in this area since its close to the bases. The 78245 area is not as bad as people make it out to be. Though there seems to be an unsightly graffitti problem, especially in and around the Heritage neighborhood, and I am trying to get a committee together to do something about it.

I live in the 78245 are and find it a decent place to live. It's not going to be the Dominion if that's what you're looking for. I would assume you would live in the Dominion if that's what you wanted. For one, the traffic here is great! Not very much at all compared to the other parts of the city. We have a great elementary school in our neighborhood, our neighbors are all friendly and keep their homes looking beautiful, the shops and restaurants around us are great. We have never had any problems that you wouldn't have in any other area. As a matter of fact, we have never had any problems at all besides seeing SOME graffiti in the area, which you would find in any part of the city. As a matter of fact, I have seen less graffiti around here than what was here even a year ago. Thinkitsfunny, I would be curious to know where you lived that you found it so undesireable and where you moved to that was so much better? I love it here!

Please note the OP posted this 2.5 years ago. I think he's already found his house.

I think he's talking about Heritage to the east of the lot newer subdivision you live in. Heritage has only a voluntary membership in the HOA.

78245 is not bad at all. It is near the base and in the area with the Hoa's it is very good with no major issues.

I know he's not looking, but what about the current people looking that might see this thread because someone had to revive it? We have to get the word out that it's NOT a bad area like a few sour apples said.
