We'll be in the market later on this month after arriving.

I've looked at the Cavender and Batchelor web sites and was wondering if anyone here has had some pro/neg. experiences to share or names of other dealerships.

Looking for 'Certified Used' cars and dealerships that can deal, not attempt to shoe-horn people into a the car they want to move, not the one you want.

We'll have our own financing and know what we want so we won't need "selling", just someone who can do the dealing and make the deal.

Is that a pipe dream?

Last year we purchased a car from Ancira in Floresville. Great home-town service. The manager was warm and friendly. The salesman was very informative and helpful - not pushy at all. Got a great price on our trade-in - well above other dealerships we visited. We got a good deal on our purchase. The service well above A+. CaTe

Try the BeepBeep dotcom or other sites that allow you to view many photos and prices on both new and used cars. Carmax, lots of others have them. You can check it out, and then, if you see something worth the trip call or go. I think the internet allows you to do LOTS of online studies without having to run all over town. It also gives you the ability to find something you think is worth your time to test drive vs wandering around looking for something.

Never heard of that site, Paka. Thank you.
I'm big on net searching prior to 'going in'. That's why I want a no b.s. dealership. Heh.

Off to bee beep!

My son just purchased a new Ford F-150 from Bluebonnet Ford in New Braunfels. My husband and I went with him as we are from NY and have a lot of experience dealing with "lying, theifven, weasels in the car business. I was happily surprised with the service and sales. No pressure, and the attitude was, how can we help you get what you want and make this a positive experience. Would highly recommend them.

Are there more liars, thieves and weasels in NY than in the rest of the country ?? I'm from NY too and haven't experienced much of this. . Just don't let anyone take charge of the sale and you'll be OK. You are the boss...always remember.

Yes, and I should have included NJ in my post. I do agree that we the consumer need to be the boss and be in charge, and fortunately there are a lot of tools available now so you can have the upper hand before you walk into a dealership

Make sure he gets a "Club" or something for that truck--it's a popular model among the "lying, theifven, weasels in the vehicle theft business".
