Switching from Time Warner to AT&T
Can I do this any time? Or is my cable package a contract?
Sorry for the new thread but didn't want it to get lost in the KSAT thread.

Yes. I would think even if you had a 2 year price lock..you can get out of that contract, because Time Warner is failing to provide the local channels. |

Yeah, dropping KSAT off the line up affects my BIG12 football amongst other college football games I enjoy on that channel. Imagine if they dropped it by tomorrow! I'd personally declare jihad on TW!
I too have the 2-year price lock, but if they change the service on me, they've breached that contract IMO.

I believe the contract includes any lineup changes that may occur. Therefore you "have to pay" the breaking the contract fee. |

According to Time Warner's site:

I do not believe a lineup change will warrant the waving of this fee. |

What's the fee for early termination? $150? I wonder if TWC's competitors (Dish, DirecTV, AT&T) are offering any sort of incentive to offset it?

I switched to AT&T for ONE week - Internet access only - and it was a NIGHTMARE. Went right back to TW. Both have lousy customer service, though.

If they require us to pay a contract cancelation fee, I'll just ask congress to whoop up a TWC cancelation bail out plan. They're paying for everything now days anyways.
