momoftwins05, I am mom of twins 04. We to have the same tradition as you. We go to New Braunfels to Granzins Meat Market at 1644 McQueeney rd. They have great deli meat and lots of other tasty things to put together a nice spread for the holidays. Hope this helps.

I agree with Granzin's. We love their "weiners" which are very inexpensive but are dang near gourmet hot dogs.....& lots of other meats.

Don't confuse the meat market with the BBQ joint (which is also very good btw) on San Antonio St. near the downtown plaza. Both are called Granzin's (probably the same family).

And I've had great kolaches (both the more traditional fruit...as well as the texanized sausage) in little local bakerys... in the towns of Weimer, Schulenburg & Caldwell, fwiw. I used to enjoy the cream cheese kolaches & the sesame seed kolaches.

My twins are now 4yrs.old. They were born end of june of 2004 (twin daughters). I am also a twin. Hope your holiday turns out wonderful.
