Hi Everone!

I really appreciate all the great tips that y'all have given for my upcoming trip to SA (for the ADA Convention).

I'm kind of curious about the Chart House restaurant at the top of the Tower of the Americas. We (the staff) ate at a similar restaurant during our time at the convention in Vegas and thought it might be a great place for a nice meal with the staff.

Is it worth doing?

Thanks!

I would recommend it to you as a tourist. The view is great, and the food's not bad. Service is good, and the restaurant rotates as you eat so you get to see the entire city. Aim for sometime before sunset for the best views.

If it were in any other location I would be hesitant to recommend it as there are better options for the money (Biga comes to mind). The view and experience is worth it. I say give it a shot!

It's a bit pricey, but we really enjoyed the food when we went a couple of weeks ago. The waitstaff was very attentive, and overall, we had a great time. I would definitely recommend it if you can afford it.

The restaurant that is there now is a big improvement over what it used to be. For the first 35 years of the Tower's existance the restaurant was basically a Jim's, a local diner style restaurant. Great burgers, but overall not exactly what one would expect at the top of the Tower.

It used to be referred to as "Jim's on a stick". Now it's gotten into a higher class of service and food. It is a nice place, good food, good service, and a great place to showcase the city. I even know locals who enjoy it.
It's part of the Landry's chain. the atmosphere and service are better than the usual Landry's.

I haven't tried the one on top of the tower but I ate at the Chart House in Alexandria, VA. If it is anything like that one, good stuff, though a bit spendy. They did have a great salad bar.

I hear there a great appetizer there with mango(?), crab and avacado!
