I saw the end of an ad for him on WOAI and didn't catch what it said. Is he leaving? Is said something like 'Good Luck'.

WOAI is suffering. They are slow to adopt the HDTV format - not switching until the mandatory date next Februrary, the loss of Tanji Patton and now Mac. If Beamer goes...you know things are really over.

Oh....I like Maclovio! He will be missed. Initially I wasn't a fan of Tanji, but she became more polished and very good. I really enjoyed her as well. You're right, if Beamer goes....I'm gone too. BTW - he sure looks thin these days....is he trying to slim down? Not that he looks bad, but any thinner and it might not wear too well on him. I hope he's not ill. Anyone know about this?

Oh so that's why Siobahn has been doing the weather on the radio lately... I've missed the morning news lately and totally missed this. Bummer - Mac was perfect for morning weather. I like Jennifer Broome for the nights, but the rest are "eh"

It says this:

His final on-air forecast was early last week. News director Aaron Ramey explained his departure this way: Perez resigned to take a job as spokesman for the Edgewood Independent School District.

A spokesman for a School District? Didn't know they had those. Interesting...

You must not watch the news very often if you're not familiar with NISD spokesman Pascual Gonzalez. There's always something happening in the NISD and I would venture that the guy makes on-camera appearances in at least half of this city's weekday newscasts.

Not suffering... just cheap! After San Antonio's Clear Channel sold the station, the new owners who hail from the east coast are slashing budgets and cutting costs. Jeanne Jakle's column at the link above has more details.

While I have no reason to not like Siobahn - she is probably a very nice person - but for an on air personality - she is terrible. Jennifer Broome is great - but Siobahn needs to go.

Everybody's cutting costs. Doesn't make them cheap.
