No phone calls yet but I attended one of the big job fairs to get a feel kind of and have applied online at the districts Im interested in and have been told by one of my references that they have already been contacted by NEISD and I just sent in the app to them earlier this week. So dont lose hope they are working on it if you have sent in applications with any of them make sure they have all the documents they need. Good luck.

Don't worry too much about phone calls yet. Current teachers don't have to put in their resignation until the end of June, so a lot of principals don't know what openings they'll have yet. Things will heat up (literally and figuratively) in July and August. My wife got hired the week before school started when we moved back here a few years ago.

I cant say how their summer one is ran but the way the spring was done was most of the time week on week off and as it got closer to the end two weeks off which I think was about Taks time but that wont hit in summer. What certification are you going for? Mine is in special education and I loved the instructor I had. One of the things I liked so much about them is that they start you right off in your own specialized area of subject. Some of the alt-cert programs like texas teachers your in a general class with everyone on stuff like lesson planning etc and dont break off til closer to the end into your own specialized area. Their test reveiws leave something to be desired but the classes are great. Class usually ran from 6pm-9pm(830sometimes depending on the teacher) during the week mon-thur and 8am-3pm(2pm if everyone brought their lunch). The orientation session be sure to bring about a 2-3 inch thick binder because they will hand you a huge stack of papers Lets see what else can I think of.... um if your 15 mins or more late your counted absent unless you have notified the teacher. Your allowed to miss one class and thats it. Depending on where your driving from traffic is hell at that time of day. Feel free to pm me with any other questions that pop up about them if you like

I'm pursuing special education as well. Thanks for the info . Oh yes, the traffic can be a challenge. I have to leave early from work to get there on time because I'm all the way at Randolph.
