Valley Hi/SW/Old Pearsall
Okay, so this might be a longshot, but are there any members who are also residents of the Valley Hi area?
(Five Palms, Old Pearsall, Sky Harbour, etc...)
I recently moved to the area and just wanting to get some opinions of the area. I know it clearly has its fair share of "issues," I guess what Im looking for is to start some kind of dialogue with other residents.

I grew up in the area, on Lake Valley in Valley Hi and also have a friend who lives in the area, in the new section that's been added there.

I work with several folks living in the area...there are some that have owned their homes there FOREVER and take great pride in their places, there are some that have turned their homes into rentals.
It seems to me that the "pockets" of long time homeowners seem to run in streets...like they all stay or most of them leave, but the long time owners that I know of still love living there. If you happen to work at Lackland (and they do) it is VERY convenient with the price of gas and the traffic situation getting better and better (NOT!) all the time!

I think the area has so much potential but for whatever reason alot of it has gone down the crapper. Its very frustrating.

I grew up there and my dad is still there (Maple Valley). It will be nice when the outlets are built. Out there.

My in-laws are winter Texans and they own a house in Hidden Cove. My FIL bought the house back when that was a community for young military families--early 70's. I wish that place would stage a comeback, but it sure doesn't seem likely.

Outlets? Have you heard or do you know that they are building outlets out here?

Wow! I had no idea! Thx Sapphire!
I really hope this revitalize this area. It seems like with all the space and accessbility to the base and Kelly USA and Toyota something like this would have come along awhile back.

I really hope so, too! That area has long been ignored. I'm just worried that with the economy tanking that this will be put off or shelved entirely. My FIL says there hasn't been any ground broken over there.
