Default Mexican neighborhood in SA?

I know!!!!!
It's the dumbest question I could ask about San Antonio.
but since I just moved to San Antonio and live in the North side,
I was wondering if you guys know of a "very mexican" neighborhood that might be interesting to go by and visit.

What exactly would be interesting in said Mexican neighborhood? Are you looking for a specific architecture (Adobe Huts?) or perhaps a bunch of folkloric dancers prancing about? I'm just curious as to what you think you might find different.

Drive all the way down Culebra towards town. You'll see a restaurant called Rita's...(bandera/culebra) There's a mexican bakery there too. The best place to capture mexican culture is the market. It doesn't get any better than walking the market with a Dos XX in your hand! Oh, it just hit me... you should check out the Guadalupe Theater... its really a neat place. I went last week and it just was really nice. It's not on the nicest side of town but it is a landmark here.

I LOVE Rita's!! If the OP wants to witness Mexicanos in motion he/she should go to the HEB Mercado on 24th and Culebra.

Yup! 24th and Culebra but My bad Rita's is on Straight down Bandera before you merge to Culebra.
HEB Mercado is a great place to shop, my grandparents live in the area.

If you're interested in the market, check out El Marcado downtown. Now that's the most authentic!!

Moderator cut: orphaned quote and reply

The original question is kinda silly though, I mean it's San Antonio and what do you want to see a mexican neighborhood for? Do you think we'll bust out the mariachi's and sernade you? That only happens on Mother's Day and other special occasions. Maybe if it's your birthday???

If you're offended by the question in the OP, use the report post button.

There were several posts deleted above because they either failed at being helpful or were attempting to draw conclusions about the original poster because of the question in the OP.

Let's wait for the OP to respond to the replies that remain before offering any more replies. I know that you can do a better job of providing helpful information than you did in the posts that were deleted.
