And the road/town is spelled Fredericksburg and can be pronounced both ways. The east coast people especially throw in the short e sound. Fredericksburg, VA and Frederick, MD

I went to Mac in the late 60's so I grew up in that neighborhood. Everyone always pronounced it Knack-a-doe-chez...Sorry to "knock" that one...
I've also heard Cibolo pronounced Sea-below...should be Sib-o-low and another is Pedernales Falls State Park called Ped-er-nails (on the local news) when I've always heard people in Johnson City pronounce it Per-de-nalez. (I think I forgot all those dictionary rules I learned in grade school but maybe you see where I was going.)

That is a-RAN-zas...the seaweed was pretty bad last month (take a rake...saw others & used their "path" to the water) Love Days-of-allah and Loc & Terra...Thanks !

Correct on the "Knack" pronunciation .....even the people living in Nacogdoches pronounce it the way you mentioned (have a child that went to SFA there)
I gave up on PEDernales 30 years ago. My friends in Comfort, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and even old timers in SA would verbally beat me up unless I said PER -de-nahl-ez! I have a friend that has a ranch on the Pedernales and asked him why it's pronounced PERdenales.....and he said "just because". Good enough for me!

Lots of people in that area just call it "Fred" Road.

BURN-it.

My father had a saying when we were little.
He would tell us "It's called Burn-it durn-it, why cain't ya learn it?" That's how I remembered to say it because of his ryhme! I thought it was cute.
Once I took my boss, who is from Washington, to Laredo and we stopped in Encinal. He butchered that name every which way... entertaining for me to watch. Not sure if it is difficult for others or if it was just him! haha

Falfurrias is one that makes me giggle--it only sounds good if you can roll those R's. I just went with the ones that couldn't and called it Fal.

Burnet is Burn-it, at least according to radio station at Texas State University. I was on air for a while, and we actually had a pronunciation sheet similar to what we are talking about on here. All of the names were strictly area cities, streets, etc. Y'all have pretty much covered them all on here. I had a friend who moved in from the DFW area, a farm boy, and he could not pronounce anything. He didn't really care, but until he moved back to DFW, we just learned to live with his mispronunciations including, but not limited to: Born, Grune, Belvedere, Hubener, New Braunsfels, and Dayzawvuluh

I was always fine with "Blank-o" until I married my husband, who is Hispanic. So now my brain does a dead stop when it comes to "Blank-o" as I have to sort through which pronunciation is correct - am I saying this the Spanish way because I'm speaking (in my pre-school way) Spanish? Or am I talking about the street name? It catches me every.single.time!
I admit to not reading the whole thread. I pronounce Huisache "wee-sahch" which I think it the accepted "San Antonio" way (not the Spanish way...the San Antonio way!).
And San Pedro is just "Sahn Paydro" to me.
Hell, I grew up in central Illinois. I have a major farmer twang whether in English or in Spanish. I just know if I get something wrong SOMEONE will tell me.
(Adding that 's' in the middle of New Braunfels makes me want to slap someone. Perhaps because I grew up in Illinois and MANY people here pronounce the silent 's'... which just irks me to no end.)
