Just got my new Blackberry Storm this morning!! Anyone else get one? It truly is the first iPhone rival. 3G speed is incredible. The Verizon Wireless store at Northwoods sold out by 7:30 this morning.

Please tell us how it rivals. How does it compare to the Sprints Instinct and T-Mobile's GPhone? And who in San Antonio carries it besides the Verizon store?

Glad to see competition for the iPhone but, as far as I'm concerned, no WiFi = no sale for me. I'm not a fan of Verizon, either, so I guess I'll stick with my (mostly) trusty iPhone.

It is vastly better than the Instinct. I haven't seen or tried the GPhone. Right now only Verizon caries the phone...but you can get it at Best Buy and Circuit City as well as the Verizon stores.

The functionality is very similar to the iPhone. The phone is slightly thicker than the iPhone but basically the same size. The screen resolution is higher than any other phone on the market...so video is incredible.

Verizon's 3G network is superior to AT&T. The internet download is very fast. Nearly as fast as my desktop here at work. I will be with family over Thanksgiving in Houston that have the 3G iPhone so I will do a side by side comparison. I had AT&T service for over three years and had lots of problems with dropped calls and no service. I switched last year to Verizon and have been very pleased.

There have been lots of articles about the problems AT&T has had with their 3G network availability/speed - so the WiFi is a necessity for the iPhone. I am more interested in having internet connection while on the road - like driving on the highway. WiFi doesn't apply there.

I agree, the lack of WiFi is a deal breaker.

My sister in law has had hers for a couple weeks. She works for Verizon somewhere in the "top" so she gets all the goodies before released to the public. She loves it, but she's also tied to something 24/7 (computer, cell, whatever). Me? I could care less. All I need is to be able to make a call when stranded somewhere.

I wonder how many people on the lone star card ran out and bought one?

Have you tried the new BB Storm touch screen? It is very easy to use.
