We currently live in Round Rock, TX but my dh is considering a position with USAA in San Antonio. I am a SAHM with 5 yr. old b/g twins and my son is special needs. He currently attends the PPCD program in RISD and is doing great but I am seeking anyone with any info on good special education elementary programs out there. I saw a post from awhile ago about NISD and how good they were so if someone could give me some input it would be greatly appreciated.
Also some great neighborhoods in that neighborhood too. We would probably be renting at first since in a couple of years he might be relocated to Phoenix so we don't want to get stuck in a house but we are able to make a pretty good lease payment so please give me an idea of some good areas that we can ride bikes, be comfortable, and live in a family-friendly environment.

Thanks!

I think the NISD would be able to meet your needs well, and with your DH working at USAA, it would seem that your housing needs would mesh nicely with the location/area as it is in the NS District.

Depending on your sons particular needs, you should probably keep 1604/410 and I-10/Bandara Rd as your boundry area to search for a rental house...it would be a good area for your son and ensure that the hubby's commute is minimized. The USAA campus and the Medecial Center areas are all within that area. There are many special needs schools within that area as well.

Hope this helps. Welcome to SA!
