That location seems to have been a problem for most of the restaurants in it. I've suspected that it's an access issue. It's not visible from the shopping center or the main lanes of 1604 and it requires a couple of quick, tight turns to get into the parking lot. Leaving is another challenge because of the fast traffic on the access road.

Cheesy Jane's didn't work for us, either. Like you, we tried it once and never went back. We were regulars at Tin Star in that strip and Cheesy Jane's always appeared busy when we were there.

Well Ounce just closed here in Dallas and if a High end steak house in North Dallas I don't see them having much chance in Stone Oak.

I have no clue if those businesses are closing and I haven't heard anything. I will tell you we went to the Stone Oak area to eat one saturday night and after driving in the area...I swore I would never go back! We were eating at a certain restaurant off of 281 and we missed our exit the first time trying to get to it. Honestly, it literally took us 45 minutes to turn around and go back to the place. Needless to say, I was so mad I swore I'd never eat up there again. Maybe some of these businesses need to spread out around town and they would do better?

Yea Mojo...like OUR side of town!!! I don't see WHY the big boys don't scoot into this area...man, everything is always PACKED...I said it before and I will say it again, build it on this side of town and they WILL come!!! Look at the New Olive Garden...PACKED all the time! Can't wait for Logans and some of the others that might follow to get the message...and whoever opens here at the Potranco/1604 area first will hit the mother lode!!!!!!!

Do they have other locations close by?

No kidding, motherlode is right! Oh, and please, no more pizza places unless it's something like Dough or something a little more upscale, gourmet. I do enjoy Romes on Culebra though! I'm just sick of the Stone Oak area and the traffic, I DO take my business downtown more than up there.

Which Cheesy Janes closed? And which EZ's? I know the EZ's at the Forum in Olympia closed (or did they move?)....but two in AH are still open!...and the one on Bitters was doing fine a few months ago.

As far as the original poster and the list he provided I haven't heard a peep about any of those restaurants closing. Possibly because of the economy it was just speculation since they seem to be higher end dining establishments.

The Cheesy Jane's at 281 and 1604 (near Costco) closed over a year ago.

The EZ's at Blanco and 1604 closed about a year ago, but there is a new location coming soon (or maybe open already?) on 1604, just east of Stone Oak Parkway.

It is open and if I'm not mistaken it is a two story!
