I took a quick drive up to Canyon Lake for no particular reason, and wow... it's dry.

Those look like the Atlanta area's Lake Lanier pictures from last year. What kind of shape is the aquifer in? It's frightening.

Considering the severe lack of rain, the Edwards Aquifer is doing amazingly well at 668.7ft. That is within one foot from the historical monthly average for the month of December.

I have learned this morning that this is actually the lowest Canyon Lake has been in recorded history, which currently stands at 898.4 feet above sea level. The old record was 899.7 feet above sea level, set back in 1984.

It's nothing like Lake Lanier last year. That thing was over 20 feet below sea level.

As for the aquifer, it's doing very well.
