Default Texas State Parks Pass

We were thinking about visiting some Texas State Parks during Christmas vacation. Have a couple of questions. Does anyone know where I can purchase the Texas State Parks Pass on-line, or somewhere around San Antonio. Also, does the year start with date purchased?

Thank you,
Steel Man

Good questions.........
TPWD: Frequently Asked Questions | Texas State Parks Pass

Looks like you can't buy it online, and they are good for one year from the date of purchase.......you can probably buy them at Gov't Canyon out near Culebra and 1604 but I didn't get that far into reading yet.

Yeas, you can buy them at Govt Canyon! I know because that is where I buy mine! I get a free one as a disabled vet; but that one is only an individual pass and to be honest the $60 annual family pass is still worth it!

Cheers! M2

You can buy a park pass at most parks. You also get a few free camping days coupons in the mail with your pass. You also get 10% off most park store purchases too. :O)

You just purchase it at the entrance to the state park. It's good for one year from date of purchase - you'll get a temporary pass that is good for one month until your "actual" pass arrives in the mail. With the number of great state parks we have within a few hour's drive from San Antonio it's a great deal.
