I totally agree. I have looked at A LOT of SA pics in the last few months and I can say without a doubt that these are the absolute best. These should be in the Chamber of Commerce's visitors guide or something!!

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone!!

I'm not willing to turn my hobby into a job. I actually do hold copyright, but essentially have listed very liberal license rights on flickr. Basically you can do anything you want with it as long as I get credit. It's been kind of interesting to see quite a few of my pictures used on blogs and such because of that. I guess I'm gaining Fame and not Fortune

If people really want prints DM me and I'll see about getting some worked up.

I feel like a broken record....I missed yesterday's post, which I love. The tower colors don't often come out very well, but your shot is gorgeous. And the above photo looks like a model, so serene and perfect. You need to publish the next greatest S.A. coffee table book, all slick and big and hardback. I would buy it immediately!

p.s. I can't even rep you anymore because I've done it so much!!!

just go to the Flickr page where they are hosted and click on more details, or click here: Flickr: More detail about Arneson River Theatre (http://www.flickr.com/photos/cleopold73/3121795622/meta/ - broken link)

you can also find a lot of the details by saving the pictures and looking at the properties or EXIF data
for some reason I can't get that off these pictures, though

It is a Pextax K10d, with the 18-55 kit lens. On my list is a better wide angle lens, but so far all my really good lenses are telephoto. The obvious shortcoming that can be seen in the Tower of the Americas picture is the barrel distortion. (Hint, the light posts appear to be leaning towards each other)

I was shooting with shutter priority. Basically i just set desired exposure length (anywhere from 4 to 30 seconds on these pictures). Everything else is then set by the camera. If you click on the pictures and then click "More Properties" on the right side down the page on Flickr you can see all the exif data including camera settings at the time the picture was taken.

As noted elsewhere on the this thread with shutter speeds that slow a tripod or other solid footing is absolutely necessary. If you look closely at the river walk picture of the people dining you will see motion blur since they were moving while the picture was being exposed.
