I think one of the key appeals of The Dominion is that it's a place that's not easy to find and get in to. Apparently it's not easy for firefighters to get in there, either.

I think the verdict is still out. If you have ever been in an emergency, it takes "for ever" for anyone to show up every time. 11 minutes is still to long per the fire department, but the 35 minute number is crazy.

I keep reading the comments section of that article in the EN and the response time keeps getting longer and longer...what the...?? The house was so big that the fire could have burned awhile and nobody there would be aware of it and the coup de grâce was the excuse that the residents used trying to call out on a "dead" phone line already destroyed by the fire. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when the phone doesn't work. Being rich doesn't make you right.....I think the SAFD did what they could with what they had to work with.

Whether the folks that lived there were "rich" or not...we don't know (I don't know their financial situation)and calling out on a dead phone isn't too smart. The response time was ludicrous though. We had the same problems with some of the gated communities in SoCal...emergency equipment would sometimes have issues getting through the gate.

Maybe so...but they could be in debt up to their eyeballs, or on the brink of bankruptcy...you'd be surprised. I know many that own >750K homes that are in trouble.

I thought the main purpose of the new Dominion underpass which just opened a couple weeks ago was so the fire station near Stonewall Ranch would have quicker access to the Dominion. The article says two fire trucks were heading towards an accident at Boerne Stage Road... were there no fire trucks at all at the Stonewall Ranch station?
