to stay on topic.
I bought an above ground pool about 6 or 7 years ago at Atex Pools (Bandera and Eckert). It was a nice one, oval 18 x 32, I paid about $4000 for it and then another $1500 for the deck.
About 3 months ago it got drained and pushed into a big metal ball with the tractor and is resting peacefully in a hole in the pasture.

Like RD, it was a huge money pit. I wouldn't have minded spending the money if someone would have used it. I was the only one who got in it and that was to vacuum it. Sometimes I look at the spot where it was and I really miss it. Last year was HORRIBLE because we had so much rain, it was green and I was fighting it constantly.

OMGosh, TXtrkgrl! That is so pretty!! My 8yod saw it and said, "awwwwwww!!!!!! That is beaUUUUtiful!!" But I understand about the upkeep thing. OH! And you gotta post the pic of you demolishing it with the tractor! Don't remember where I saw it, but that was a good one! Really brings it home about how much upkeep these things require in SA.

That really is nice!! Or was....

I can't believe your daughters didn't have pool parties--a sure fire way to get the cute boys over is to have plenty of cute girls in bikinis. Rookies!!

That had to be hard to part with.

Talking A-Tex Above Ground Pools, Spas, & Billiards

This past summer we finally gave in and got the kids the pool they were begging for. We shopped everywhere and more than once. It's a hard decision because you feel like you are being told so many different things depending on where you go. After hearing so many great things about A-Tex Pools from others, we put our faith and our money into their company. I can honestly say that we have never been happier. We got the best deal plus our after sale experience has been wonderful. Any time I call with a question or drop buy the store I always end up satisfied with the service. Everyone is always so helpful and seems to know what they are talking about. They have been a San Antonio family owned and operated business since 1973 and it shows. Definitely consider them before you finalize a sale elsewhere. I don't think you will be sorry. We absolutely love our A-Tex above ground pool.

Thanx for the info, but that decision was made over 2 years ago.

I came into this thread to see if anyone has had any experience with the Intex Pools sold at walmart. Hubby and I are considering one but wanted some feedback on it...
