I think that if you asked 98% of the pop. of the county if they'd ever seen a wild alligator in the area, they would say "no." They are extremely rare in SA.

Default thanks so much

Wow!

I am very grateful to you all for your well thought out ideas and areas of interest to our family...I am astonished at the kindness I see here.
aside form a strange post that told me I needed counseling (I replied to you btw).....everyone has been great. I am looking into flooring Company's , calling them has been a bit of a challenge, we've tried the "customer looking for a quote approach" they want specifics I can't provide...calling and telling them we are in the biz seems to make most clam up-they don't want the competition.
pretty typical of almost eveywhere we've looked.

Austin is trying to hard to be hip-I've vistied those forums....hip just happens-can't make it happen by speaking a certain way or dressing a certain way.... and the Music scene I read so much about (and experienced while there last year) is not impressive to someone like me-from the City of music, Chicago!
again, many mucho thanks to all of you who have been so helpful.

Maybe the alligators just hide better in SA??? LOL! I think w/ all the construction here in the past, we are taking away the habitat they are used to , plus, we are right on top of the Everglades-even "man vs. wild" guy was nervous there! I see a few gators a day here, all over the place, canals, drainage ditches, little lakes...does not help that all the tourists feed them!!!!! up to $10,000 fine if the Dept of Wildlife and blah decides to ever impose it-never heard it done.

yep, as noted- no state income taxes here in Fl -that is partly why Texas appeals to us...we like! our taxes are 7%....bit of difference.
I just don't know!!!! aghh-we will visit soon.
I'll post when that times comes in March-asking for advice in where to stay, eat, etc.
