Hello,

We are considering moving from Seattle, Washington to San Antonio.
What are the neighborhoods like around St. Mary's University? Also, what about the North Central area? We have read a lot of information, however, without being there, it is diffiuclt to know what the neighborhoods are really like. We are looking for affordable and centrally located neighborhoods to rent in and eventually buy ($150,000 range).

I have a good friend that lives about a block of off the St. mary's campus he is looking for a different house and he grew up there. I don't try to warn people off of an area cause beauty is in the eye of the beholder but its a rougher side of town. What area are you talking about when you say North Central? As plenty of non locals find out sometimes we don't call something by the name you would think it might be! We do have North Central just want to make sure that we are talking bout the same areas

Check out STONE OAK if you have $$$

edit-for 150 don't go to Stone Oak unless you want to be laughed at.

Check off Bandera Rd/Braun Rd./Prue Rd./Babcock Rd.

Yea, I edited my post.

For 150 they will be the laughing stock of Stone Oak.

They need to look at Bandera Rd. area.

NIce homes, safe. and reasonable prices along with good schools.

I think that there would be a little more than laughing... I mean, $150,000.00? That won't even buy a decent bathroom in the Stone Oak area.

That is true.

I guess sometimes I am just too nice.

If you don't plan on buying for 300+, don't look in Stone Oak.

Not only will you be laughed at, you will be demoralized to the point where you will want to leave Texas.

For 150K, you can stay a few months at a nice hotel in the Stone Oak area.

There's plenty of homes in the low $200k range in Stone Oak.
