Hey all you San Antonio area Dog People!

The Landa Park Aquatics Complex (located in New Braunels) has a spring fed pool they open up twice a year for a giant Doggie Dip Party. This spring's swimfest is on Saturday, April 25th from noon-4:00pm.

This grounds are fenced in and the dogs can be off leash during the event.

Visit the website for updates and more details:
www.ci.new-braunfels.tx.us
Go to the Departments menu, Parks and Rec, 2009 spring program guide, page 13!

I went last year as a vendor and it was like heaven on earth watching the dogs play so hard.

I cannot recommend this event more highly. I have 2 water-loving dogs and this is our favorite event. The water is cool, clear, and refreshing. There's a shallow end and a deeper area...with a dock in the middle for dogs to swim to. It's really fun because this is one of the few chances I get to swim WITH my dogs and not just watch from the sidelines. It's the best!

Do owners go swimming with the pups or just toss them in to fend for themselves? :-)

SO sad that I am going to be oot for this event. I put this on my calendar waaaay back when it was first posted and have really been looking forward to it. However, I'm taking baby girl to Ohio to see her great-grandma... hopefully it will get a great turn-out and we'll make it next year.

Does anyone who has been to this before know, when they say you need to have proof of current vaccinations, do you need a printout from the vet or is their rabies tag on their collar sufficient? Thanks!

Scooter - we pre-registered today by phone and we confirmed this requirement - it is in fact the paper rabies certificate, and not just the tags on their collar. They will require you to produce/show it when you arrive. You can pre-register by calling 830-221-4350. Hope that helps!
