I had a CPS thermostat installed when they were offering them. It's part of the program to conserve energy.
Well, this morning, I have no heat. the thermostat is blank and it has no response when I try to adjust it. I checked the breaker and it's fine. When I talked to my HVAC man, he said it's the thermostat.
The HVAC man told me to have the thermostat replaced. Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm going to tell CPS to put the old one back and take thier thermostat and put it where the sun don"t shine. So much for conserving energy.
I don't like having no heat on the coldest days of the winter.

You have to admit that the thermostat is helping you conserve energy. You're using zero energy on heating ATM.

It's supposed to go up to 64 today. You won't be cold for long.

They didn't leave the old ones behind? How old were the CPS ones? The people who used to own my place left both of the old thermostats with all the paperwork and whatnot so I thought the city didn't take them when they did the job.

Have you checked the batteries? Digital thermostats usually use them. I've had a blank digital readout in the past, and it was always because the batteries needed to be replaced. Never have had/used the CPS model though.

I hate mine, but part of that is my fault. I dont know how to use it! And cant find paperwork. Its frustrating. I have read what's on the little panel, but that too is confusing.

I changed the batteries. Even though the indicator said they were good. That didn't work. I do have the old thermostat, but do not know how to put it in. I have limits on electric and that is one of them. It's 3 wires and 5 connections with no indicator of which one to connect what wire. The HVAC man will be here in the morning. I'll tough it out.

Occasionally blowing cold in heat mode is a normal part of the system cycle to prevent it from freezing up - as I've been told.
