That Black population statistic is wayyyy off. On another note, I think people are confusing the way the city "looks" for the way it "feels"...HUGE difference.

I really can't help but diasagree with almost every response to this post that SweetHomeSanAntonio (SHSA) has offered. Read some of Char Miller's analysis of our downtown community or ask somebody with some credit and while they'll gladly admit to you that while the city's downtown has stayed vibrant (due to business and tourism), San Antonio has long been a suburban city. To address SHSA, San Antonio (city OR metro) is NOT more dense than Dallas. San Antonio does NOT have more loft development (new OR historic) than Austin....and how does the Riverwalk make San antonio "feel" like a big city at all? Quite the contrary, I've always found the Riverwalk really nice, cozy, interesting, but decidedly not very "urban". Also, while I have 90.1 set on my car radio (great station), it is not a Modern Alternative rock station...more of a "indie/everything/obscure niche" college station. For clarification, there's a difference between "an alternative" (to say, mainstream Top 40) and the Alternative Rock genre (and subgenres) that davi was referring to, so while 90.1 is an alternative station, it's not an Alternative (rock) station.
