Default What Happened To Bringing The Wal-Mart Grocery Store Formats Here?

I had read a while back in the SA business Journal and Express News that they were suppose to bring their "neighborhood" stores to SA. These are basically just the grocery part of a walmart without all the other stuff. Anyone heard anything or have some type of an update because I read this like a couple of years ago and still haven't seen or heard of any opening up in town. I know other cities (houston, Dallas, El Paso) already have some.

I remember when Albertson's pulled out of the SA market, there was speculation that Walmart would step in and take over many of Albertson's former stores in the SA market. Weren't the Walmart grocery-only stores called "Always"?

Of course, it never happened, probably due to HEB's dominance. In fact, the Albertson's closest to me became an HEB only a few years after a nearby Handy-Andy became an HEB.

I haven't heard anything more about Walmart entering the San Antonio market with grocery-only stores.
