So what's your point? Is there a question or opinion here...or are you just sharing news?

Sheryl was responsible for the city finding $30 million that it didn't know it had.

If Michael either finds the city a pro sports tenant for the Alamodome or figures out a way to leverage UTSA football into millions of dollars of secondary benefit for downtown business, IMO he'll be worth every penny. It's important that the city pay someone to work on this, because the Alamodome is leaking more taxpayer money than the city is paying both Sculleys. Obviously, I disagree with the notion that he's a figurehead.

There are other benefits to having them on the city payroll, but I'm being deliberately brief.

However, taking a pay cut, or not accepting a raise would send a message that "we are all in this together". There are many worthwhile, valuable people out there who are out of a job.

did anyone happen to catch her interview on WOAI, or was it KSAT? --- either way when they asked her about her raise and if she was considering not taking it she just stared blankly at the interviewer with a grin and she was silent for a long time --- she finally snapped to what was being asked and she really fumbled with her answer ---

after the interview was over she supposedly said that all items would be brought to the table, including, supposedly, her raise ---

Yes, it was evident that, prior to the question being asked, there was no intention of bringing it to the table.

She actually hasn't asked for a budget cut! What she did ask for was alternative budgets but that doesn't mean that they will be implemented. Frankly she's been worth every penny that she has earned.

Every penny, I don't think so, and when you ask every other dept to take a cut, or not to hire, or to have to clear a rehire thru dept heads and all that. Well, adding a lot of beauracracy to enough bs already. Making paperwork jobs for people that got enough to do as it is. She could afford to let her promotion in pay go, several others have. Set the standards by showing, not by saying. Words are easy. Put your money where your mouth is. so to speak.

Are all city workers expected to take a pay cut? No. Many people have a hard time accepting that others have 3X,5X or 10X the earning power they do. Get over it.
