What do you mean? Other posters are working to solve other problems... just not the one YOU think is important.

Burbank is a good school, but I hope the people on the boundary committee decide on the best answer for SAISD as a whole.

Does anyone know how many schools are expected to close? SAISD budget for 08-09 was $561,132,125 and their expected revenue is $519,927,915...they are $41,204,210 in the red. That would mean aprox 7-8 schools would need to close just for the district to break even and they still will not have improved the quality of education. Comparing SAISD to the TX avg for graduation rates TX rate is 97% compared to SAISD at 80%; I think in closing schools the superintendent needs to be held accountable for improving not only the graduation rates but the overall quality of education.

I hate to see Burbank go as I graduated from their in 2001, they have a great magnet school program the IB program is one of the most prestigious in the world. I dont think the resources were there for that program to reach its full potential. But with SAISD so over budget it makes complete sense why most programs fail in the district.
