My husband and I are seriously considering a relocation to San Antonio area. I'm just beginning my search for the area we like best.

My husband does a lot of design and remodeling work for newer houses in the upscale neighborhoods. So, we like to be close to those areas. But, we prefer living in a little more established, older neighborhoods that are close to lots of new development.

We want to be near a good, private Christian school. And I like to be a little outside city limits. I work from home so do not need to commute.

I've been looking at Selma, Schwertz, and as far out as New Braunfels. It looks like to me the northeast side has undergone a lot of development? Is that correct?

Where would you suggest we look?

I think you'd like the Schertz or Cibolo areas. They seem to mean everything you listed.

Your best bet might be Helotes & Boerne (a lot more upscale neighborhoods under construction). You may also try Shavano Park, Hollywood Park, and Spring Branch.

Converse sometimes gets a bad rap, but it's really a nice area with a ton of new development going on. I'm in a neighborhood with a nice mix of new and older homes.
