Were high school here in San Antonio where they supported or against the war. Just asking??

Both. There were those that protested, those that supported...and mostly those that were scared to death they were going to get drafted.

I went to HS here with a guy that enlisted on the day before the draft "lottery" was held for that year (they use to pull birthdates from a fishbowl type of thing, and that was the order in which you got drafted...according to your month/year of birth) because he was SOOOO positive that his birthday was going to be #1. He chose to go into the AF vs getting drafted into whatever they decided (back in the day, you went to the inprocessing station and if they needed 25 Marines, the next 25 in line were Marines)...anyway his birthday came up something like 360 out of the 365 ranking.

He liked the AF and stayed to retire, but was kicking himself after the "lottery" was held.

Can you imagine that these days???????
